Keshia Chanté Says Drake Is Not the Father of Her Baby

Keshia Chanté says Drake is not the father of her baby. She said it plainly.
"He is not the dad." That was her answer in an interview with Canada's CP24 news channel on Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2026, closing down days of online speculation Billboard.
The rumours started after Chanté shared a maternity photo shoot on Instagram. Fans linked Drake to the shoot at Toronto's Casa Loma earlier in the week of Oct. 6, and the theory spread fast.
Chanté addressed it head-on in the CP24 interview, which also covered motherhood and her appearance at a Cashmere Collection event. She said the father of her son is in the music industry and is also a public figure, but she did not name him.
She added that she and Drake had spoken about the speculation the day before the interview, asking each other, "Why is this happening?" Complex
Drake's team had already denied the claim. A representative told TMZ on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2026 that Drake is not the father of Chanté's child. The same representative told E! News the rumours are false, stating simply: "It's false" E! News.
The connection goes back a long way. Drake and Chanté dated in the early 2000s after coming up as aspiring artists in Toronto. In 2022, Drake brought Chanté on stage at a Toronto show and introduced her as his "first girlfriend."
For fans, this means the mystery remains. Chanté is seven months pregnant with a boy and has not publicly identified the father People.
Drake is already a father to 8-year-old son Adonis, whom he shares with Sophie Brussaux.
