Ben Affleck says Fortnite kids knocked him out instantly, blasts costly skins

Ben Affleck lasted seconds in Fortnite. Then he told the 12-year-olds who beat him that he does not suck because he is a grown man.
The actor told the story on New Heights, the podcast hosted by Jason Kelce and Travis Kelce, in an episode released on 7 October, according to GameSpot. Affleck said he likes first-person shooter games, played from the character's point of view with a gun in hand, but Fortnite was a different test.
Fortnite is a free-to-play online game where up to 100 players fight to be the last one standing. Affleck said he was eliminated immediately when he tried it. The children who knocked him out then made fun of him over voice chat.
His reply was loud. "I don't suck! I'm a grown man!" he shouted back, he told the Kelces.
Affleck also took aim at Fortnite skins, the paid outfits that change how a character looks without changing how the game plays. He said his son had asked for skins for Christmas that cost hundreds of dollars. His objection was simple. They are not real. You only wear them inside the game.
For parents, this will sound familiar. The price is real even if the jacket is not.
The exchange comes in a segment listed as "Online Gaming Against Kids" starting at 1:48:30, in an episode titled "4-0 Chiefs, Lane Johnson Retires, Big Boy Plays, Ref Fights & Staying Positive w/Ben Affleck," per New Heights on YouTube. The episode description says Affleck discusses why he hates online gaming, and notes his film "Animals" on Netflix on 8 October.
