Netflix's The Retrievals Adds Four to Cast

Netflix's fertility-clinic drama The Retrievals has added four actors to its cast.
Arian Moayed, Story Walker, Adepero Oduye and Liam Oh have joined in recurring roles, meaning they will appear in multiple episodes rather than as full-time regulars, Deadline reported on 9 October.
Moayed will play Amir, the husband of Kaitlyn. Kaitlyn is played by Jessica Chastain. Walker will play Bella, the teenage daughter of Ian, played by Fabien Frankel.
Oduye will play Nurse Sam, a registered nurse at the Yale Fertility Clinic. Oh will play a fellow student-teacher at the elementary school where Gabby works. Gabby is the other central patient.
Emilia Jones stars as Gabby and Chastain stars as Kaitlyn. The two women are fictionalised patients fighting for justice, according to Netflix's Tudum. Amy Ryan plays Carla, and Frankel and Will Harrison were also previously announced.
The series is inspired by Susan Burton's Peabody Award-winning New York Times podcast of the same name. It follows IVF patients who were operated on without anaesthesia because a nurse had stolen their fentanyl for personal use.
The pain was real. The patients were told it was in their heads.
Behind the camera, Metzler serves as showrunner, meaning she leads the writing and day-to-day creative decisions, as well as writer and executive producer. The series is produced by LuckyChap and Quiet Coyote. Lila Neugebauer will direct the pilot, meaning the first episode that sets the look and tone.
What makes this stand out for viewers is the scale of the ensemble now forming around two central roles. Gabby and Kaitlyn carry the claim for justice. Around them sits a family, a school and a clinic, each with its own view of what happened.
