Alanis Morissette announces first holiday album for November

Alanis Morissette will release her first holiday album, Good Weather for Immaculate Conception, on 6 November via Virgin's Epiphany imprint, a label brand used for a run of releases. Pitchfork reported the announcement on 9 October, with Yahoo noting it is her first festive record.
The album runs to 14 tracks. It collects Morissette's seasonal covers released since 2020, alongside additional covers and two original songs. The set is organised as a single catalogue for recordings that had previously arrived separately.
Guests span comedy and music. Actors Steve Martin and Martin Short appear, alongside singers Amythyst Kiah and Joy Oladokun. Morissette's cover of 'Beautiful Star of Bethlehem' features singer Brandi Carlile and Martin.
Other songs confirmed include 'O Holy Night', 'Happy Xmas (War is Over)', 'Little Drummer Boy', 'Ave Maria', 'River' and 'Last Christmas'. 'Silent Night' features Oladokun, while 'Merry Christmas' features Short.
Morissette spoke about the project in September on Call Her Daddy, the show hosted by Alex Cooper. Billboard reported that she and Short had recorded a Judy Garland song for the collection. Her previous studio album was Such Pretty Forks in the Road, released in 2020.
For listeners, this means one place to find the holiday recordings. The covers date back five years. The new songs and guests complete the tracklist.
