John Cena Thanks Drake for 'Quebec' Shout-Out

John Cena says he is "super grateful" after Drake shouted him out on "Quebec." The actor and former wrestler gave his reaction on The Morning Show on Thursday, Oct. 8. He said it meant a lot to be used as a reference point in another performer's work.
The line comes on "Quebec," where Drake raps, "Chrome belt, look like John Cena in here" Billboard. The track first appeared in Drake's FOMO short film in September. It was then released to streaming services earlier in October as part of the HABIBTI (FOMO) deluxe, the expanded edition with extra tracks.
Speaking on the show, Cena said he was thankful that Drake uses him as language in his profession. "You never know who you're gonna reach," he said. He added that he visits Canada often because his family is there. "I love Canada," he said.
It is not the first time Drake has name-checked him. Drake previously mentioned Cena on "Wick Man" from For All the Dogs Scary Hours Edition. On that track he rapped about Cena not knowing the emotions he wrestles with.
Cena has his own history in rap. He released the album You Can't See Me in 2005. It was certified platinum, the industry sales award for passing a set threshold. It featured "My Time Is Now" and peaked at No. 15 on the Billboard 200, the US albums chart that combines sales and streams Billboard.
His famous "you can't see me" hand gesture also has music roots. Cena has said it was inspired by Tony Yayo's dance in the video for 50 Cent's "So Seductive." He recognises the moment travelled far beyond its start.
What makes this stand out is the two-way link. Cena moved from music into wrestling fame and acting. Drake keeps pulling that history back into his lyrics. Cena was clear about the result. He was grateful to reach a new audience through someone else's song.
