Glasgow Warriors kept their unbeaten start to the United Rugby Championship season with a 36-19 win over Connacht at Scotstoun Stadium on 9 October, according to BBC Sport.

Five tries. That was the number that settled it.

In rugby union, a try scores five points and is awarded when a player grounds the ball over the opposition goal line. Score four or more tries in a league match and you collect a bonus point, an extra point on the table on top of the points for the win. Glasgow passed that threshold to secure what is called a bonus-point win.

The tie was Round 3 of the BKT United Rugby Championship, with Glasgow listed as the home team. It kicked off at 2:45pm at Scotstoun Stadium in Glasgow, Scotland, according to match listings on ESPN. The club's fixture page also had Glasgow Warriors v Connacht down as a Round 3 home game.

The league's official website carried the 36-19 scoreline as a full-time result with a recap option, as shown by the United Rugby Championship. That listing confirms the margin: 17 points between the sides at the final whistle.

For newcomers, the United Rugby Championship is the 16-team professional league featuring clubs and provinces from Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Italy and South Africa. Teams play for league points through the regular season to reach the play-offs. An unbeaten start means Glasgow have won every match they have played so far.

For fans, this means early momentum is building. Winning at home is prized in this competition, where travel is long and away games are hard. Winning at home with tries to spare is even better. It gives coaches selection breathing room and gives supporters something loud to cheer.

What makes this stand out is the efficiency. Five tries in one afternoon requires constant pressure. It asks forwards to carry hard into contact and backs to finish the chances. Connacht finished with 19 points of their own, so Glasgow had to keep working for the full 80 minutes.

The result landed in the middle of a busy Round 3 weekend. The league also advertised its Round 3 highlights package and looked ahead to South African fixtures, including Bulls v Lions at Loftus Versfeld and Stormers v Sharks at DHL Stadium on 10 October.

Glasgow will take the positives and reset. Connacht will look to regroup. With the season still young, every bonus point can count late in the year.
