Bee Brings School-Set Horror Arithmadtic to Busan Buyers

Bee Entertainment is offering international buyers a psychological horror film set in an elite school at Busan's Asian Contents & Film Market, the buying and selling hub that runs alongside the festival.
The title leading the slate is 'Arithmadtic', known in Vietnamese as 'Cong Tru Nhan Chia', as reported by Variety. It is directed by Irving Ly and scheduled to open in January 2027. It stars Anh Thu and Lam Thanh My.
The story follows a transfer student and the bond she forms with a teacher as strange events spread through the school. The campus is dressed in the Dark Academia look, all old libraries, uniforms and candlelit gloom. The wider cast includes Phuong Tra My, Chu Anh Tuan, Cong Ninh, Hoang Minh Hung and Dac Thang.
What makes this stand out for buyers is the home market behind it. Vietnamese films earned more than VND3 trillion ($114 million) in Vietnam in 2025, according to Variety. Local titles beat imported titles there for the first time in 2025. That is a sharp signal for distributors hunting for horror that travels.
Bee is bringing four cinema features aimed at 2027. 'The Step-Mother', from director Tran Nhan Kien, is dated for the second quarter of 2027. Pom Nguyen, whose first two 'The Corpse' films took more than VND280 billion ($10.7 million) combined in Vietnam, returns with 'How to Find a Fortune in 60 Days', an action comedy with a family story at its centre, due in the third quarter. Le Ha Nguyen's 'Dealing With a Ghost', a horror romantic comedy, is set for the fourth quarter.
Television sits beside film on the same slate. 'The Unrecognized Heir', an 80-episode family drama from director Trac Huynh Nhat Tan, started on channel VTV9 in December 2025. 'A Deal With God', a 65-episode mix of family drama, comedy and fantasy from director Dang Minh Quoc, and 'Destined to Find You', an 80-episode romance also from Trac Huynh Nhat Tan now in post-production, complete the trio.
Bee is using Busan to look for investment, co-development and distribution partners, plus deals to license rights territory by territory. That kind of rights sale is how a local producer pays for bigger shoots and finds screens abroad.
Bee Entertainment is part of Bee Comm, founded in 2009. The parent group produces the Vietnamese edition of 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?'.
