Sonic Racing CrossWorlds Year 2 adds Godzilla, Hello Kitty and Final Fantasy as Sega cuts price

Godzilla is about to crash a Sonic kart race. Sega has set out the second year of add-ons for Sonic Racing CrossWorlds, with six paid crossover packs running from Hello Kitty to Final Fantasy 7, alongside a permanent cut to the base game price.
The Year 2 season starts on November 3. It will pair six paid packs — DLC, or downloadable extra content — with free content released each month, according to details reported by Video Games Chronicle.
Pack 1 leads with Godzilla. The pack adds a version of City Escape, the level first seen in Sonic Adventure 2, where Godzilla attacks mid-race. It also brings three new vehicles styled after Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah.
Pack 2 is based on Evangelion, the long-running Japanese animation series. Sega has not yet detailed its track or racers.
Then comes the curveball. Pack 3 is titled the Virtual Sanrio Puroland Pack. It adds a track based on Sanrio Puroland, the indoor theme park in Japan, and brings Hello Kitty and Kuromi in as playable racers.
Pack 4 looks inward. Titled the Segaland Pack, it includes a new track built around classic Sega games, plus three vehicles modelled on arcade cabinets for Out Run, After Burner and Super Megalo.
The final two packs reach into role-playing games. Pack 5 carries the working title Midgar Pack and will feature crossover content from the Final Fantasy 7 Remake series. Pack 6 is titled the Reload Revival Royal Pack and will draw on the Persona games.
Free additions sit alongside the paid packs. Bayonetta joins as a free character when Year 2 starts on November 3, unlockable through a new Rival Duel mode. Later in November, a McLaren Racing add-on brings a McLaren Formula 1 car and an outfit that puts Sonic in a McLaren race suit. In early 2027, Aigis from Persona 3 Reload arrives with a car called the Palladion Dressy.
The paid Year 2 packs can be bought individually or together in a Season Pass, a single bundle covering future add-ons, for US$29.99. Players who own both Season Pass 1 and Season Pass 2 get Super Shadow and his Super Dark Flare vehicle as a bonus.
Sega is also lowering entry prices. The Standard Edition drops permanently from US$70 to US$40, effective immediately. The Digital Deluxe Edition, which includes all Year 1 content, drops from US$90 to US$60.
What makes this stand out is the breadth. For fans, this means one racing roster will soon hold a hedgehog, a kaiju, a Sanrio mascot and a Formula 1 car. The new date is November 3. The new price is on the shelf now.
