Bayern survive record 8-second scare as Kane rescues draw at Augsburg

Eight seconds. That is all it took for Bayern Munich's afternoon to unravel.
Augsburg and Bayern drew 2-2 in Germany's Bundesliga, the top division, after the hosts scored after just 8.4 seconds. The result meant Bayern missed the chance to move top of the table, according to BBC Sport.
The opener came straight from kick-off. Goalkeeper Manuel Neuer made an early mistake with the ball at his feet, and Robin Fellhauer pounced to give Augsburg the lead. It was timed at 8.4 seconds, reported as the fastest-ever goal in Bundesliga history by RFI.
Bayern were stunned. Augsburg are not one of Germany's traditional powers. Bayern are the reigning champions, winners of a 34th German title last season. Yet they spent the rest of the first half chasing the game.
Harry Kane changed it. The England captain did not score this time. Instead he set up both Bayern goals in the second half to drag his team level, as BBC Sport confirmed.
An assist, simply put, is the final pass that creates a goal. Kane provided two of them when Bayern needed them most.
It fits a pattern. Augsburg are one of Kane's favourite opponents. He had scored seven Bundesliga goals against them before this season, more than against any other German side. He also reached 100 Bundesliga goals in only 98 games earlier this season, 31 games quicker than the previous fastest to that mark.
What makes this stand out is the contrast. Kane is usually the finisher for Bayern. Here he was the provider. Two calm passes. Two rescues. And still it was not enough for the win.
For Bayern, the frustration will linger. To concede that early and fight back shows character. To drop two points from a position of control will sting. Augsburg, meanwhile, will remember the night they caught the champions cold in seconds.
