Rosalía Brings Ballet and Rain to SNL for LUX Songs

Rosalía turned Saturday Night Live into a ballet stage and then a rainstorm on 10 October, performing two songs from her fourth studio album LUX.
Comedian Shane Gillis, the night's host, introduced both performances in Studio 8H in New York. The episode was the third of Saturday Night Live Season 52, according to NBC.
She opened with "Reliquia" en pointe. The staging was built around ballet, with Rosalía dancing on the tips of her toes alongside dancers in a spare, controlled routine, as reported by Billboard.
The performance followed weeks of preparation. Rosalía trained with a professional ballerina to prepare choreography for her LUX tour. "Reliquia" had already reached the top 10 on Hot Latin Songs, Billboard's US chart for Latin songs, in November 2025.
Then the rain came. Her second song was "Magnolias," the closing track from LUX. She sang the first half dry under a single light before in-studio rain poured over her for the second half.
What makes this stand out is the contrast in the staging. The night was characterised by control first and exposure after, with one number built on precise movement and the other ending with Rosalía singing soaked.
The appearance was her second time as musical guest on the programme, though her third time performing in Studio 8H. She debuted as musical guest in 2022 with "Chicken Teriyaki" and "La Noche de Anoche" from MOTOMAMI. A year earlier, she made a cameo during Bad Bunny's 2021 appearance to perform "La Noche de Anoche" with him.
The SNL booking followed a wide chart entry for LUX. The album entered the Billboard 200, the US ranking of most-consumed albums, at No. 4. It debuted at No. 1 on five Billboard album charts, including Top Latin Albums, Classical Albums, Classical Crossover Albums and World Albums.
Rosalía recorded LUX in 13 languages. The album is her first full studio release since MOTOMAMI in 2022.
