Arthur & Clara unveils first images ahead of Austin world premiere

First-look images from Arthur & Clara have been unveiled ahead of its world premiere, its first public screening anywhere, at the Austin Film Festival, The Hollywood Reporter reported on Oct 12. The festival runs Oct 29 to Nov 5. The images show stars Mirren Mack and CJ Beckford in character for the first time.
Arthur & Clara is billed as a UK romantic comedy made as an indie feature, a film produced outside the major studios, according to Screen Daily. Mack plays an actress. Beckford plays a filmmaker. That pairing sets up the story in two jobs that both live in front of an audience.
The story centres on two people who run away hoping to find themselves. They choose the same rural farmhouse. They arrive without knowing the other has done the same thing, The Hollywood Reporter reported.
The film is the feature debut for writer-director Kieran Bourne, his first full-length film. It is also the first feature from production organisation Candid Broads Productions. A debut means a first credit at this length, after shorter work or work in other roles.
Producer Oriane Pick, who founded Candid Broads, leads the project. Anais Ferrato serves as co-producer for the company. The pair oversaw a shoot that stayed close to its story roots.
Behind the camera, Tamas Apor Meder serves as director of photography, the person in charge of camera and lighting. Lucy Amos handled casting. The production shot on location in Kent earlier in 2026.
The road to Austin has been public in stages. The lead casting was reported by Screen Daily in May 2025. Candid Broads was then profiled by The Hollywood Reporter on Sept 11 in a piece framed around female-led work, impact and representation. The exclusive first-look images followed on Oct 12.
What makes this stand out is the double starting line. A new writer-director meets a new feature organisation. Austin gives both a festival launchpad, with an audience seeing the farmhouse story before anyone else.
