Pasto Cine boards María Alché's new family drama

Argentina's Pasto Cine has boarded María Alché's next feature, 'I Love You and Today Everything Looks Beautiful'. Variety reported the attachment on 12 October 2026.
The story is set between the 1950s and 1960s. It follows Josefina and Jorge, a brother and sister, after the death of their parents.
Brazil's Bubbles Project leads the production with Spain's Elastica Films, Germany's Pandora Film and France's Maneki Films. Pasto Cine now joins that group of producers.
It is a familiar team. The film is the third collaboration between Alché and Bubbles Project founder Tatiana Leite. It is also the fourth collaboration between Bubbles Project and Pasto Cine founder Bárbara Francisco.
Three key craft hires are in place. French cinematographer Hélène Louvart, who leads camera and lighting, has joined, alongside editor Livia Serpa and sound director Laura Zimerman.
The project is still in financing, the stage where producers secure the money to make the film. The plan is to shoot in the second half of 2027.
Alché previously co-directed 'Puan' with Benjamín Naishtat. Paris-based Luxbox acquired sales rights to that film, meaning the right to sell it to distributors territory by territory, as reported by Variety. Her earlier credits include 'A Family Submerged', while Italy's Kino co-produced an Alché-Naishtat co-directed film with Argentina's Pucará Cine and Pasto, as reported by Variety. Pasto Cine also lists both 'I Love You and Today Everything Looks Beautiful' and 'Puan' on its official website, according to Pasto Cine.
What makes this stand out is continuity. The producers and director keep returning to each other. For fans, this means the new film arrives with relationships already tested on earlier shoots.
The wider context includes Brazilian independent production. Screen Daily published a slate interview with Leite on 9 October 2026, written by Rebecca Leffler, about Bubbles Project and the uncertain future for Brazilian indie cinema, according to Screen Daily.
