Art Garfunkel postpones four England shows with respiratory infection

Art Garfunkel has postponed four concerts in England after being diagnosed with a respiratory infection.
The 84-year-old singer was due to bring his What a Wonderful World tour to England this week. His doctor advised him to take time to rest and recover, according to Billboard.
The affected run was due to open on Oct. 13 at Watford Colosseum in Watford, England. It was then set to continue on Oct. 15 at the Opera House in Manchester. Both dates are now postponed rather than cancelled, with replacement dates still to be confirmed.
Two further shows are also postponed. They are Oct. 17 at the University of Wolverhampton at the Civic Hall in Wolverhampton, and Oct. 19 at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Together the four dates would have taken the tour through four English cities in seven days.
No rescheduled dates for the four shows had been announced at press time. Garfunkel apologised to fans after the postponement was confirmed, according to NME. For fans, this means holding on to existing bookings and waiting for venues or tour organisers to confirm what happens next.
He is performing on the tour with guitarist Tab Laven. The next date still listed after the postponed English shows is Oct. 21 at L'Olympia in Paris. That date is unchanged in the current tour schedule.
Garfunkel's career began in the 1950s and first became widely known through early recordings with Tom & Jerry, according to his official biography. He has since won eight Grammy Awards and has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He has also worked as an actor and author alongside music.
More recently he has performed joint musical work with Art Garfunkel Jr. as Garfunkel & Garfunkel. The English dates were presented as part of his solo What a Wonderful World tour. Further information on the postponed shows is expected from the tour team.
