Fremantle takes Singapore dating show Wingman global

Singapore dating series Wingman is going global after Fremantle signed an exclusive deal with broadcaster Mediacorp to sell the show idea abroad.
The agreement was reported by Variety on 12 October 2026. Fremantle will now pitch the format, meaning the underlying concept other countries can remake with local casts, to buyers at Mipcom, the annual television market in Cannes.
The hook is simple. Singles hand their dating decisions to their closest friends. Friends choose the matches, steer the dates and live with the results.
Wingman was Mediacorp's most-viewed dating format of the year, according to the same report. No viewing period or figure was disclosed.
The ownership is split three ways. Mediacorp originated and commissioned the show and is the majority owner. Beach House Pictures, which is itself a Fremantle company, is co-owner.
Under the new deal, Fremantle handles sales, licensing and production across most overseas territories on behalf of Mediacorp and Beach House Pictures. Mediacorp keeps control in Singapore and in certain Asian markets. The focus is licensed remakes, meaning new local versions made under licence rather than the original Singapore episodes being sold as-is.
The show began small. It started as a submission to Mediacorp's Creatives Assembly Unscripted Formats Pitch in 2023. Mediacorp then developed the idea with Beach House Pictures and ordered a first season, which Beach House Pictures produced.
That first season is streaming on Mediacorp's mewatch platform and on the Mediacorp Entertainment YouTube channel. Beach House Pictures' previous entertainment credits include MasterChef Singapore and Bake Off Japan.
Wingman sits in Fremantle's Mipcom 2026 slate alongside two other dating shows, Maison Tabou and Love Lens. The slate was detailed by Variety on 7 October, with Advanced Television also reporting the global push on 12 October.
For viewers outside Singapore, this means Wingman may soon reappear with new faces. Same game. Different city.
