Deadline has opened online access to its Contenders Film: London 2026 panels, putting conversations from its awards-season showcase in front of anyone with an internet connection, Deadline reported on 12 October 2026. The site carries panel discussions recorded at the London event. It is designed for catch-up viewing after the live edition.

The London edition was an in-person-only gathering at the Ham Yard Hotel in London. It brought together cast and filmmakers from 12 films hoping for awards attention. That phrase simply means films whose distributors are campaigning for nominations in the months ahead.

Watch from home. The programme mixes releases from large studios with independent titles. Each film receives its own panel with the people who made it.

Netflix presented Ray Gunn, the new feature from filmmaker Brad Bird. Danny Boyle discussed Ink. Bleecker Street and StudioCanal presented Tender Loving Care from Mike Leigh, while Amazon MGM Studios showcased Project Hail Mary and Sony Pictures Classics presented Bunker with Penélope Cruz. La Bola Negra also featured in the line-up announced ahead of the event, Deadline reported on 10 October 2026.

Guests across the panels included Cruz, Bird, Boyle, Jack O'Connell and Leigh. The sessions pair actors with directors, writers and other creatives. The focus stays on how each production was organised and put on screen.

The live London showcase took place on 10 October at the Ham Yard Hotel, according to an event notice on X. The streaming launch opens those rooms to a wider audience. No ticket is needed for the online version.

Deadline has used the same streaming approach before. It opened a site for Contenders London 2025, its showcase of films that fire up the awards season, Deadline reported in October 2025, and for Contenders Television 2026, its showcase of series, stars and creators in awards contention. Those archives remain useful for voters and viewers who missed the live dates. The London 2026 site continues that pattern.

More live editions are still to come. Contenders Film: Los Angeles is scheduled for 14 November, with virtual Contenders Film: International editions listed for 5 and 6 December.

For fans, this means an easy entry point. You hear directly from casts and makers before nomination talk begins. It is a quick way to learn which titles will be part of the conversation.
