Charlamagne Tha God has told EJ Johnson to leave Rihanna alone.

The warning came on the Saturday, Oct. 10 episode of The Brilliant Idiots, his podcast with Andrew Schulz. It followed a row that started during Paris Fashion Week, according to Billboard.

Johnson, the child of basketball legend Magic Johnson, posted a social media video from Paris alleging that Rihanna held up Dior. He claimed the brand's Sept. 29 show was delayed because she arrived late.

"It did start an hour late because Rihanna's was late," Johnson said in the video.

The clip added fuel to an exchange already playing out online. Footage went viral showing Johnson being blocked from entering a Paris hotel where he said Rihanna was staying. Rihanna replied with one word. She commented "Damn" under the footage, a response that drew more than 47,000 likes.

Charlamagne said Johnson was picking the wrong fight. He said Rihanna and Beyoncé are among the queens Johnson will never outshine or touch, and warned him to know his limits. The discussion comes about 12 minutes into the episode, which was covered under the headline "Charlamagne Tells EJ Johnson to Leave Rihanna Alone" by Complex.

This is not the first time Johnson has criticised Rihanna's style. He said her look at the 2026 Met Gala "did not eat," a slang phrase meaning it did not impress. He made wider comments that Beyoncé, Rihanna and others "did not eat" on the Met Gala carpet during an appearance discussed on the May 7 edition of The Breakfast Club.

What makes this stand out is how quickly a fashion-week complaint turned into direct back-and-forth. For fans following both figures, the dispute is now living in clips, comments and podcasts rather than on a runway.
