Grace Helbig has two tumours in her brain and will have surgery on Wednesday to remove them.

She shared the news herself in an Instagram video posted on Monday, 12 October, as reported by Variety. She spoke directly to viewers. The message was brief and plain.

Helbig said doctors found the tumours after she went to the emergency room with numbness in her legs. That symptom led to scans. The scans identified two growths in her brain.

In the video, she said the brain tumours appear to be related to her earlier breast cancer, according to Instagram. She did not share more medical detail. The focus of the update was this week's operation.

The announcement follows her diagnosis with triple-positive breast cancer in the summer of 2023. She had noticed a small lump in her breast. That led to tests and then the diagnosis, which she later discussed in public.

Treatment for that cancer continued for an extended period. On 19 February 2026, she posted that it had been two years since she rang the bell. Ringing the bell is a familiar hospital ritual where a patient marks the end of active treatment. She shared that milestone with followers in an Instagram post.

Monday's video brings that period of recovery to a difficult turn. A new symptom brought her back to hospital. A new set of scans brought a new diagnosis.

The brain surgery has an immediate effect on her work. Helbig and Mamrie Hart have cancelled all 2026 dates of their 'This Might Get Weird' podcast tour. The tour is built around the podcast the pair host together.

Those shows will not go ahead as planned this year. The dates will be rescheduled for 2027, as reported by Variety. No replacement dates have been announced yet.

For fans, this means a pause. The podcast tour is a live extension of a show many listeners follow closely. Helbig said the decision was tied directly to the need for surgery and recovery.

She is expected to undergo the operation on Wednesday. Further updates will depend on how that surgery goes.
