Olivia Rodrigo teases possible remix with voice sounding like Chappell Roan

Olivia Rodrigo has sparked talk of a remix after sharing a short studio clip to her Instagram Story on Oct. 12. The video showed what appeared to be a song session open on her computer, with background audio of a voice sounding like Chappell Roan saying, “Ooh, Olivia does remixes now,” Billboard.
Rodrigo had not officially announced a project or confirmed Roan’s involvement as of that report. That means there is no confirmed title, no guest credit and no release date yet. The post itself was a Story, the short-form post that disappears after a set period, rather than a formal announcement.
A remix, in industry terms, is a new version of an existing song, often with a new guest vocal or changed production. Talk of one points back to Rodrigo’s current album cycle. Her latest album is ‘You Seem Pretty Sad For A Girl So In Love’, a 13-track collection.
The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, the chart that ranks the most popular albums in the United States. It was Rodrigo’s third consecutive No. 1 on that chart, following ‘SOUR’ in 2021 and ‘GUTS’ in 2023. Chart positions cited here come from Billboard, which compiles both album and singles charts from sales, streams and radio play.
On the Billboard Hot 100, the US singles chart, Rodrigo’s “Drop Dead” reached No. 1. “Expectations,” another track from the same album, peaked at No. 20. All 13 songs from the album placed in the top 30 of the Hot 100 in June, a measure of how widely the full record was streamed and bought on release.
Roan and Rodrigo have worked in proximity before. Roan opened for Rodrigo on the GUTS World Tour in 2024. Roan later appeared with Rodrigo at her inaugural Daisy Chain Fields festival in August, an event billed with an all-women line-up.
Rodrigo has also been trying out other joint work live. She debuted a new collaboration with Robert Smith during a surprise popup set at Primavera Sound, Consequence. No studio release details for that performance were confirmed in the verified reports.
For fans, this means the next step is an official credit or release notice from Rodrigo or her label. A Story tease can vanish within a day. A confirmed song stays.
