RJ Mitte, who played Walter White Jr. on Breaking Bad, died on Monday, Oct. 12, at age 34.

His representative confirmed to People magazine on Monday evening that Mitte died by suicide, according to Variety. He was found dead at his home in Brownsville, Texas.

The Brownsville Police Department received a call at 12:50 p.m. local time and found Mitte at the address. The department said the cause and manner of death are still pending amid an ongoing investigation.

Mitte appeared in all five seasons of Breaking Bad, which ran from 2008 to 2013. He played Walt Jr., the teenage son of Bryan Cranston's Walter White and Anna Gunn's Skyler White.

Like Walt Jr., Mitte had cerebral palsy. He was one of few disabled actors in a leading television role at the time.

His first audition was for an anti-meth commercial before he was cast on Breaking Bad, according to People. The series centred on a chemistry teacher who begins cooking meth.

Five days before his death, Mitte posted an interview clip on social media. In the clip, he said he wanted to revive Walt Jr. and continue the character's story, according to People.

In a separate interview, he predicted Walt Jr. would not be in "a good place" after the events of the series. The remark was published on Oct. 10.
