Axel Åhman to Star as Haunting Theatre Worker in Body in the Closet

Comedian Axel Åhman is set to star as Staffan in Body in the Closet, a new Finnish series from Warner Bros. International Television Production Finland.
The casting was reported by Variety on 13 October 2026. Åhman is best known as a member of comedy group KAJ.
Staffan works in audience services at a theatre. He dies in a chainsaw accident. Then he comes back to haunt Betty.
Josefin Sonck takes the lead role opposite Åhman. The story follows Betty as she is haunted by the Staffan she accidentally killed.
Elin Grönblom directs the series. She co-wrote it with Sonck. The pair are known for Bloodsuckers.
Svenska YLE is on board with the project. That is the Swedish-language division of Finland’s public broadcaster YLE. The production company behind the show is Warner Bros. International Television Production Finland.
Shooting is due to start next autumn. That means autumn 2027.
What makes this stand out is the mix of people. A pop-comedy star leads a ghost story built by a writing-directing team with horror-comedy form. For fans, this means a workplace comedy with a haunting attached.
The commission adds to a busy sales window for Finnish screen stories. The Finnish Film Affair is Finland’s biggest international film and TV drama market, according to Variety. It runs parallel to the Helsinki International Film Festival – Love & Anarchy.
Its 15th edition took place in Helsinki from 23 to 25 September. Its Showcase Day on 24 September brought 38 projects with international potential, according to Cineuropa.
