Channel 4 is making its first microdrama, a five-part series called The Guest List built for phones.

A microdrama means very short episodes shot vertical, designed to be watched in a social feed rather than on television. The Guest List will run to five vertical shorts, each centred on career dilemmas and new crushes, according to Deadline.

The cast is led by Jadesola Odunjo, Deba Hekmat, Mia Ito Smith and Felicity Ali. Odunjo previously played Victoria in Netflix's You. Here she plays Amaka, alongside Aisha, Bella and Mika.

The four characters are described as hard-working women navigating life as young people in London. That is the whole set-up. No episode lengths or transmission dates have been disclosed.

The Guest List is produced by Curly Media in partnership with beauty brand Sol de Janeiro. It was commissioned by Channel 4 digital commissioning executive Ameenah Taher as the broadcaster's first branded micro drama, meaning a short-form series developed with an advertiser attached, Deadline reported on 13 October 2026.

It will not air on Channel 4's main channel. The series will be released on Channel 4's YouTube, TikTok and Facebook channels, skipping broadcast and its streaming service entirely.

For fans, this means the show will arrive where they already scroll. Find Channel 4's social accounts, and the five parts should play in order.
