Jodie Comer Ends Prima Facie Tour in Liverpool Homecoming

Jodie Comer has finished her Prima Facie tour with a homecoming in Liverpool, calling the run around the UK and Ireland one of the most special experiences of her career.
The actor closed the tour at Liverpool Playhouse in front of a home crowd. She was also honoured for her contribution to British theatre at the UK Theatre Awards, an annual ceremony celebrating work on stages across the UK WhatsOnStage.
Prima Facie is Suzie Miller's solo play, meaning one performer carries the whole show. Comer made her West End debut in it. The West End is London's main commercial theatre district. Her performance later won an Olivier Award, Britain's top stage honour, and a Tony Award, Broadway's equivalent Playbill.
The 2026 UK and Ireland tour began performances at Richmond Theatre on 23 January Playbill. It then travelled to regional theatres. A transfer, meaning a production moves from its original venue into another house, often goes the other way. This time a West End and Broadway success went out to audiences around the country.
Comer said saying yes to the tour was a no-brainer. She felt she had more to give the character. She said yes without hesitation.
The response stunned her. Producer James Bierman told her 32,000 people had joined the queue for tickets for the Liverpool Playhouse run WhatsOnStage. That is many times the capacity of the Playhouse, a mid-scale regional house with around 750 seats.
Comer said the play landed hard in Northern Ireland, where audiences spoke about the judicial system. She said people shared experiences of sexual assault they had kept private for up to 40 years. The play follows a barrister whose view of the law changes after she is assaulted.
What makes this stand out is the afterlife. The filmed version is the most-watched National Theatre Live title to date Prima Facie. National Theatre Live films stage shows for cinemas. So many people have now met the play in three places: in the theatre, on tour and on screen.
For fans, this means more stage work is likely. Comer said she would love to reunite with Miller and director Justin Martin. She also talked about singing on film for the forthcoming project Stuffed. She described the experience as terrifying.
