The show takes place on Thursday, Oct. 22, at the James L. Knight Center in Miami. It will air live at 8 p.m. ET on Telemundo and Peacock, and will also be available on the Telemundo app, Peacock and Telemundo Internacional across Latin America and the Caribbean. The ceremony is produced by Telemundo and MBS Special Events.

Castro's chart record stretches across three decades. He has earned six No. 1s on Hot Latin Songs, Billboard's weekly ranking of the most popular Latin songs in the United States. His album Viva El Principe spent seven weeks at No. 1 on Top Latin Albums, the companion ranking for Latin albums, in 2011. Billboard reports he has sold more than 12 million records.

He is one of four special honourees confirmed for this year's show. Fuerza Regida will receive the Billboard Vanguard Award, Rosalía will receive the Billboard Hall of Fame Award and Rubén Blades will receive the Billboard Icon Award. Peso Pluma leads the field among finalists, with 17 mentions.

Billboard and Telemundo unveiled a first wave of performers on Sept. 24, building out the performance line-up around the honours. Billboard Ryan Castro is listed among the presenters. Yahoo

For fans, this means a night split between competition and celebration. The finalists point to the current chart leaders, while Castro's set offers a look back at a catalogue that has moved between ballads, pop and ranchera-rooted material without leaving Spanish-language radio.
