PC players may not wait long for Grand Theft Auto 6. The PC version is slated for Q1 2027, according to a report citing four industry sources familiar with Rockstar Games' plans who asked not to be named to protect business relationships GamesBeat. Rockstar has not confirmed the date.

That window would put the PC release only months after consoles. Grand Theft Auto 6 is set to launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on 19 November 2026, a date Rockstar announced on 6 November 2025 Rockstar Games. Q1 means January to March, so a Q1 2027 window means by the end of March 2027 Video Games Chronicle.

A gap of about four months would be quick by Rockstar standards. Grand Theft Auto V was released in September 2013, with its PC version following in April 2015. That is one year and seven months later. Grand Theft Auto 4 took around seven months to reach PC.

The console date has moved twice. Rockstar initially announced a 2025 release window in December 2023, then pushed the game to 26 May 2026 before setting the current 19 November 2026 date. The May 2026 date was announced on 2 May 2025 Rockstar Games. The November date replaced it six months later.

PC matters to Rockstar for more than extra sales. In August 2023 it acquired Cfx.re, the team behind FiveM, a modification framework that lets players run custom servers inside the PC version of Grand Theft Auto V. That includes roleplay servers where players take on jobs and storylines. Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar's parent company, owns the series.

There is still no official word on the online version. Twitch chief executive Dan Clancy said in a Bloomberg interview at Tokyo Game Show that GTA VI online will launch "next year". A Rockstar representative did not respond to a request for comment on the PC report before publication.

For fans, this means two dates to watch. Pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI began at midnight local time on 25 June, including the Grand Theft Auto VI: Ultimate Edition Rockstar Games. The PC report remains unconfirmed.

What makes this stand out is the timing. A four-month wait would be the shortest PC turnaround for a mainline Grand Theft Auto in recent memory. It would still leave console players first in the queue.
