Paramount Rebuilds Its Hollywood Gate on the Cannes Seafront

Paramount rebuilt its Hollywood gate in Cannes.
The 90%-scale replica of Paramount Studios' Bronson Gate greets buyers at the entrance to its 6,000-square-foot exhibition tent between Le Palais des Festivals and the French Riviera. Mipcom 2026, the international market where studios and producers sell shows to broadcasters and streamers, runs Oct. 12-15 in Cannes, according to Variety.
Variety reported the arch is held up by concealed aluminium and wood scaffolding. Lisa Lasarenko, Paramount's senior vice-president for marketing and creative services, oversaw the build. Design agency Glow Studios constructed the replica in the U.K. and shipped it to France in around three weeks.
Glow founder James Schnauer flew to Los Angeles to photograph the real gate. He used the pictures to reverse-engineer details for a 3D-printed model. Posters beside the Cannes replica advertise what Paramount is selling at the market: The Angry Birds Movie 3, the Johnny Depp-led Ebenezer and NCIS: New York.
Mipcom is organised by RX France. Its exhibition brings together more than 1,500 distribution companies and production studios on site, according to Mipcom. The week began with an opening night party for the global entertainment community. Stands range from large outdoor builds to small appointment-only rooms, meaning spaces used only for private meetings.
Banijay Entertainment brought back its two-storey wooden Banijay House. The stand, which first appeared in 2022, sits in front of the Palais on the Croisette. It was designed by architect Nicola Spinetto and created by Romain Larue from Orati. The house is flat-packed and stored outside Cannes between markets and is not used elsewhere, according to Variety.
Fremantle went with Baywatch. Variety reported its booth is dressed as a beach house, with red life preservers, surfboards and a lifeguard hut on the patio. Red tote bags with the Baywatch logo proved so popular the company limited them to clients only.
Toy and animation brands are grouped together outside the Palais. Variety reported Mattel, Hasbro and Pokemon hold three adjacent stands. Inside the Palais, Sony and Disney are on the third floor in bare-bones appointment-only booths.
What makes this stand out is the effort. A gate, a house and a beach hut all do the same job. They give buyers a reason to stop.
