The White Lotus has checked into Cannes. Season 4 was into the final stretch of a months-long shoot as of 14 October 2026, with production based at the Hôtel Martinez on the Promenade de la Croisette, according to on-the-ground reporting by Deadline.

The Martinez stop came six months after filming began on the French Riviera. It also came five months after the production shot scenes during the Cannes Film Festival in May.

That festival timing is no coincidence. Season 4 is set around the Cannes Film Festival, a lower-priority background report notes, and footage from the festival showed Laura Dern and Chris Messina filming in character on a red carpet (Sentinel Colorado, Today).

The new season uses two real hotels as fictional ones. The Airelles Château de la Messardière in Saint-Tropez appears as the White Lotus du Cap. The Martinez appears as the White Lotus Cannes.

Deadline visited the Martinez and photographed a lobby dressed for the show. The White Lotus logo was visible on furniture, windows and carpets. White Lotus-branded caps, towels, bags and scarves were laid out on display.

The look is different this time. The Season 4 logo borrows the art deco style of the Martinez, mimicking its marquee font. It is a sharp break from the ornate flower logos used in earlier seasons.

The lobby sets were fenced off from guests. A sign read, “This is a fragile movie set, please do not touch or move any set elements.”

Inside the roped-off area were golden palm trees, a fake elevator and a replica check-in desk. The set also included a circular sofa, two blue armchairs and a blue painting of a man. A doorman at the hotel spoke to Deadline during its visit.

Season 4 is written and directed by series creator Mike White. White executive produces alongside David Bernad and Mark Kamine. An executive producer oversees the creative and financial running of a series.

The ensemble cast includes Laura Dern, Steve Coogan, Vincent Cassel, Caleb Jonte Edwards, Ben Kingsley, Dylan Ennis, Corentin Fila, Ari Graynor, Marissa Long, Alexander Ludwig, Chris Messina, AJ Michalka, Kumail Nanjiani, Nadia Tereszkiewicz and Max Greenfield.

For viewers, this means a French Riviera season with show-business trappings. Expect red carpets and hotel lobbies to do a lot of the storytelling.

The new season is slated to premiere next year, meaning 2027. HBO has not yet announced an exact date.
