Urban One Inc. is launching two original microdramas on the Bossip TikTok account.

Power & Influence, a corporate-set thriller, and Foul Play, a revenge drama, will start as phone-first serials before spreading across the media organisation's other platforms, as reported by Deadline.

A microdrama means a story told in very short, vertical episodes made for scrolling. Each series will run to 20 episodes. Each episode runs about 90 seconds.

Power & Influence goes first. It is scheduled to debut on 19 October 2026. The story is set in the corporate world, where titles and alliances shift fast.

Dreux Dougall wrote the series. Jamal Simmons directed it. Ma'at Zachary served as executive producer.

The cast is set. Ivory Shields, Tanazia Madan and Jay Jones lead alongside De'Tuan Williams, Ashley Brittney Silva and Donny Carrington. The short format means their characters have little time to explain themselves. Scenes must land quickly.

Foul Play takes a different path. It is a revenge drama, serialised in the same 20-part, 90-second structure. Tanya Hoffler-Moore wrote the series and acted as executive producer.

Ty Young directed Foul Play. Leon Lozado worked as co-producer and co-director. Ashley MacCalla and Sydney MacCalla joined as co-producers, according to Deadline.

TikTok is only the starting slot. After their premieres on Bossip, both shows will extend across Urban One's digital, television, streaming and audio platforms. That chain includes the TV One channel.

For viewers, this means two ways to watch. Followers can catch the bite-size episodes on TikTok first. Later audiences can find the same stories organised for longer viewing on TV, streaming and audio.
