Five years after her last season, former Dancing With the Stars champion Lindsay Arnold Cusick says she will “never say never” about a return to the ballroom.

She told TV Insider in August that she loves the show and misses many parts of taking part. That is not a booking. Right now she is watching as a fan, cheering on her younger sister.

Cusick knows the floor well. She joined as a pro in 2013, meaning a professional dancer paired with a celebrity partner to perform live each week, and stayed for 10 seasons, according to The Hollywood Reporter. She lifted the trophy in 2017 alongside actor and singer Jordan Fisher. Together they set the record for the most perfect scores in a single season.

Her final season as a pro was season 30 in 2021. The gap was short. Her sister Rylee Arnold made her own pro debut in season 31 in 2022, one year after Cusick stepped away.

Cusick told The Hollywood Reporter that watching the show again to support Rylee feels like a full circle moment. She called the experience actually magical. It is a switch in roles. The older sister who once competed is now in the crowd.

Cusick is a mother of three. She is also the founder of The Movement Club, an organised at-home workout programme. She told People she left the series to raise her family, and later explained it did not feel quite right to be doing the show in her current phase of life.

She has still laced up her dance shoes. Cusick returned to the ballroom floor for Dancing With the Stars Con 2026 on Saturday, Aug. 1, according to People. In her latest interview with The Hollywood Reporter, she also pointed to Ka’Chava as a key element of her daily routine as she balances parenting, work and training.

What makes this stand out is the timing. A ten-season run, a record-setting win and an exit for family life would be a complete story on its own. The sister connection gives it a second act, with one Arnold on the floor and another watching with fresh eyes.

For fans, this means no change to the cast list yet. A possible return remains exactly that, possible. The confirmed sighting is the August fan convention, not a new season announcement.
