Amy Poehler's Dig Adds Five to Cast Ahead of 23 November Launch

Peacock comedy Dig has added five actors to its line-up ahead of launch. Jason Mantzoukas, Brennan Lee Mulligan and Noma Dumezweni will appear in recurring roles, meaning they feature in multiple episodes outside the main cast, while Max Greenfield and Dan Bucatinsky join as guest stars for short-term parts.
The castings were reported by Variety on 14 October. All episodes arrive on Peacock on 23 November.
Mantzoukas plays Lambros, a local shop owner who sometimes pockets treasures found at the site. Mulligan plays Marcus Robertson Jr., known as M.R., a wealthy dilettante weighing up a donation to the organised dig. Dumezweni plays Evelyn, mother of Clare, who is played by Antonia Thomas.
Greenfield plays Andrew, a high-society art dealer whom Elise, played by Amy Poehler, meets at a smart party. Bucatinsky plays Fritz, a New York museum director who takes an interest in Clare’s career.
Dig follows archaeologists and college students working at a dig site in Greece. Their discovery of a rare artefact sends them off on an adventure. The series is based on Kate Myers’s novel Excavations, published in 2023.
Poehler co-created the series with Michael Schur. The main cast also includes Hugh Laurie, Geraldine Viswanathan, Thomas and Fina Strazza.
Peacock describes the show as a 10-episode comedy-drama. Earlier cast additions included Kayvan Novak, Jon Pointing and Bonita Friedericy, reported by Variety in January.
For viewers, this means a complete story in one drop. Ten episodes land at once, with the new faces woven through the season.
