A 27-year-old woman from Towanda, Pennsylvania, has been charged with two counts of criminal homicide after her husband and three-year-old son were found stabbed to death in a guest room at Great Wolf Lodge in the Pocono Mountains. The Guardian

Pocono Township police identified her as Metallica Rose Harrison. The criminal complaint, the filing that lays out the initial allegations, named her husband as Charles Harrison and her son only as "TH." Police allege Harrison killed both victims inside the resort.

Officers had been called to the lodge for reports of a "distressed female." The resort in northeastern Pennsylvania draws families for its indoor water park and lodging. Officers found Harrison, her husband and her son inside a guest room. The husband and son were dead with stab wounds to the chest. Investigators recovered a butcher's knife and a smaller knife on the premises. Police have not described beyond the complaint how the knives were used, and the allegations have yet to be tested in court.

Harrison had cuts on her left wrist and neck. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Local officials said she allegedly attempted suicide after the killings. A dispatch account said Harrison told a dispatcher she needed help committing suicide. CrimeWatch

She allegedly told police she "wanted to be with her husband and son." That statement, as described in the complaint, is now part of the investigative record. Police have not released other statements attributed to Harrison. The family checked in on 21 September and was scheduled to check out on Tuesday, according to the complaint. Harrison lived on Pratt Avenue in Towanda, a borough in northern Pennsylvania. The Times-Tribune

Harrison faces two counts of criminal homicide, the formal charge for allegedly causing a death, with intent left for court to decide. Pocono Township police described the case as an isolated domestic tragedy and said there is no threat to the community. Great Wolf Lodge said the incident occurred in a guest room at its Pocono Mountains resort and that it is cooperating fully with local law enforcement.

The broader context here is what the legal process must now clarify. The public record so far is limited to the complaint, the physical evidence described by police, and Harrison's alleged statements to a dispatcher and officers. Prosecutors will need to establish sequence and intent around the stabbings and Harrison's own injuries, while defense and medical evaluations will likely shape how her hospitalization and alleged suicide attempt are weighed.
