Sarah Ferguson is back in Britain and living in a rented house in the Home Counties outside London. Both her daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, have visited her there in the past couple of weeks.

The account comes from royal commentator Phil Dampier, speaking exclusively to HELLO! HELLO!. Dampier said Beatrice and Eugenie had both called at the new house recently. He said they did not want to be seen with their mother in public at the moment but were talking to her and trying to be supportive behind the scenes.

Ferguson left Royal Lodge, the 30-room house in Great Windsor Park she shared with Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, after both were required to vacate the property in February 2026. The move ended a long arrangement in which the former couple had lived under the same roof after their divorce.

Her location had been uncertain for months. In March her whereabouts were described as unknown, with reports suggesting she was staying abroad, and she had not been seen publicly since December 2025 PEOPLE. Earlier this year she was spotted at a luxury clinic in Switzerland before staying at the £15 million ski chalet of Paddy McNally. McNally, the former motor-racing manager, died in July at the age of 88.

There had been reports that Ferguson might move into an annex or converted barn at her elder daughter’s country home. A spokesperson for Ferguson denied those reports PEOPLE.

Beatrice and Eugenie have kept a low public profile since their father’s arrest on suspicion of misconduct in public office PEOPLE. They retain their own royal homes. For now, the contact is private. The daughters are visiting, but not alongside their mother in public.
