HYBE Americas appoints Mohnish Sani as Head of Strategy and Growth

HYBE Americas has appointed Mohnish Sani as Head of Strategy and Growth.
The position is newly created. Sani will be based in New York and will report to Isaac Lee, chairman and chief executive of HYBE Americas, as reported by Music Business Worldwide.
HYBE Americas oversees HYBE's business in the United States, Canada and Latin America. That is a broad patch. It means working across English, Spanish and Portuguese-language markets, each with its own radio networks, streaming habits and touring circuits.
Sani joins from Amazon Entertainment. There he served as Head of Strategy & Operations for Creator Services. That title covers the planning and day-to-day running of services built for digital creators. It includes how products are priced, supported and expanded.
He knows the music streaming side as well. Before Amazon, Sani managed global digital licensing and content acquisition at YouTube Music. Licensing, in this context, means the agreements that allow a platform to host songs and music videos legally. Content acquisition means deciding which catalogues and partnerships to pursue.
Sani holds an MBA from Columbia Business School. An MBA is a postgraduate qualification in business and management. Courses often cover finance, operations and corporate strategy.
The job is new. So there is no direct predecessor. In music companies, a strategy and growth title often means looking at where money and attention go next. It can include partnerships, new business lines and ways to reach listeners in different markets.
What makes this stand out is the combination in Sani's CV. He has sat with a streaming platform that needs music rights. He has also worked inside a technology organisation that serves creators directly. Bringing those two views into one post gives HYBE Americas a single point where licensing knowledge and creator thinking meet.
New York is the base. That puts Sani close to business teams, partners and finance staff on the United States East Coast. The reporting line is short. He answers directly to Lee, who leads the Americas organisation.
For listeners, a hire like this changes little on the surface. No release dates move because of a strategy appointment. No tour routing is rewritten overnight. The work is behind the scenes, in planning, deals and priorities, and it plays out over months rather than days.
