Blondie announce High Noon, first album in nine years

Blondie will release High Noon on 26 February 2027 through BMG, the band's first album in nearly a decade.
The announcement confirms a 13-track set that follows Pollinator from 2017. The label and release date were reported by Pitchfork, with the band also setting out details on its official website.
The lead single is "Spectral Eyes". It is out now. It was written by Johnny Marr, who also plays on the track, and Marr appears elsewhere on the record as a guest.
The guest list spans generations and styles. It includes Marr, Sex Pistols bass player Glen Matlock and Beirut's Zach Condon. Singers Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig of Lucius also contribute, according to material on the band's website.
Production is led by John Congleton, with additional production and mixing from David Wrench. Two songs have confirmed writing credits. "Heartbreak Kid" was written by Blondie guitarist Chris Stein, while "Sleepwalking" was penned by Matlock, as reported by Rolling Stone.
The full track list is "Spectral Eyes", "Heartbreak Kid", "Come Back Home", "Tambo Tambo", "Man Who Had No Face", "The End", "Little Metal Drummer", "Sleepwalking", "Whistle Into the Wind", "Antifreeze", "East of Eden", "Bad Underwear" and "Ah, Sunflower, Weary of Time".
High Noon is the last Blondie album to feature co-founding drummer Clem Burke. Burke, who played with the band across its career, died at age 70. The band has positioned the album in part as a closing chapter for his recording work with the group.
For fans, this means a broad colour of sounds to expect. The band describes the new record as taking in rock and roll, punk, dance music and Latin rhythms, and it is listed as the group's twelfth studio album. Press photography for the release is credited to Maddy Rotman, according to RetroPop Magazine.
Physical formats include a US 12-inch Black EcoVinyl edition listed in the band's official shop. That edition sits alongside the standard album release scheduled for February. Blondie, a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, first set out the High Noon title and track details on blondie.net.
