Down Cemetery Road Season 2 Adds 12 New Faces to Apple TV Drama

Apple TV has added 12 actors to the cast of Down Cemetery Road for its second season.
The new names were reported by Deadline on 15 October. They are Martin Clunes, Fionn Whitehead, Paterson Joseph, Aasiya Shah, Dimitri Leonidas, Paul Chahidi, Liz White, Amanda Abbington, Jeff Rawle, Ashley McGuire, Amber Grappy and Yali Topol Margalith.
Emma Thompson and Ruth Wilson will return to lead the series. Thompson stars as Zoe Boehm and also serves as an executive producer, meaning she helps guide the show creatively as well as on screen. Wilson plays Sarah Tucker.
The creative team is staying in place. Morwenna Banks is back as lead writer and executive producer for Season 2. Borkur Sigthorssen is lead director. The season is produced by 60Forty Films.
Season 2 will draw on two books from Mick Herron's Oxford series. The show is adapted from those novels. The new run is based on The Last Voice You Hear and Smoke and Whispers.
The first season launched on Apple TV in October 2025. Apple TV then renewed the detective series for a second season in December 2025, as reported by Deadline.
That first run centred on Thompson and Wilson alongside an ensemble including Adeel Akhtar, Darren Boyd, Tom Riley, Adam Godley, Sinead Matthews, Nathan Stewart-Jarrett and Tom Goodman-Hill. Akhtar is a BAFTA Award winner, according to Apple, while Goodman-Hill is an Emmy Award nominee.
Filming on the new season is under way. Clunes was photographed on location in early September, as reported by Digital Spy.
For viewers, this means the central pair is back and the world around them is getting much bigger. Twelve new characters. Two books of story. More Oxford to come.
