A Dublin hotel has been accused of cancelling 70 rooms reserved for delegates attending a conference on combating antisemitism.

The hotel named in the allegation is Dublin's Herbert Park Hotel, according to the Combat Antisemitism Movement. The rooms had been booked for delegates from 27 European Union countries attending SECCA's international antisemitism conference.

The allegation was made by Jewish leader Maurice Cohen. The New York Times reported the accusation that the hotel revoked the bookings for conference delegates.

Cohen alleged that hotel staff asked whether the Israel Defense Forces, Israel's military, were involved before withdrawing the rooms, according to Fox News. The report said 70 rooms were withdrawn after that question was raised.

In an interview on Wednesday, Cohen described the cancellation as an example of "ambient antisemitism" that he said had increased. The remarks were reported by The New York Times.

The reports describe the bookings as intended for delegates to a conference focused on combating antisemitism. The allegation is that the reservations were cancelled because of the nature of the event.
