Fandango has ordered its first original programme: a two-episode Bad Girls Club reunion.

The unscripted special, meaning reality rather than scripted drama, is titled Bad Girls Club: Unfinished Business. It will stream on Fandango's AVOD platform, meaning it is free to watch with adverts, according to Variety.

Tanisha Thomas is set to host. She is a familiar face to viewers of the franchise and also serves as an executive producer on the special.

The reunion brings back six stars from Season 7: Stasi Townsend, Shelly Hickman, Judi Jackson, Tiara Hodge, Angie Castillo and Priscilla Mennella. They will be split into groups of three for each episode, with Thomas leading the conversations.

Fandango said Season 7 is the most-watched season of the series on its service. That explains the casting focus. Both Season 7 and Season 4 are currently listed as free to watch in the Fandango At Home app, according to Fandango At Home.

The original Bad Girls Club ran for 17 seasons on Oxygen from 2006 to 2017. It followed groups of women living together, and became known for arguments that spilled well beyond the house.

The last season was dubbed Bad Girls Club: East Meets West. The brand also spawned spinoffs including Bad Girls Road Trip, Tanisha Gets Married, Love Game: Bad Girls Need Love Too and Bad Girls All-Star Battle.

Bunim/Murray Productions, part of Banijay Entertainment, will produce the new special. The company produced the original series. Executive producers are Julie Pizzi, Steve Ezell, Brad Tiemann and Thomas.

The order comes as Fandango settles into new ownership. Fandango became part of Versant Media when NBCUniversal split off most of its cable and digital offerings. Val Boreland is entertainment president of Versant.

It also follows Fandango's October streaming announcement on 1 Oct. That slate included its first multi-studio bundles, which allow fans to buy collections from different studios in a single purchase, as reported by Media Play News.

For fans, this means a short return rather than a full series revival. Two episodes. Six returnees. One host who has lived this format before.
