Grey's Anatomy Season 23 Premieres on ABC: Time, Cast and How to Watch
Grey's Anatomy returns for Season 23 on ABC on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2026 at 10:00 p.m. ET / 7:00 p.m. PT. The medical drama keeps its Thursday home for the new run.
You can watch live on ABC through an aerial or cable. You can also stream the live broadcast through services that carry broadcast channels over the internet — DirecTV, Hulu + Live TV, Fubo and Sling TV, according to The Hollywood Reporter. DirecTV, Hulu + Live TV and Fubo offer free trials to eligible customers, which let new users watch for a limited period before paying.
Miss the broadcast? The premiere will be available to stream on demand on Hulu the following day. Season 23 is also listed to stream on Hulu on Disney+, for viewers whose Disney+ plan includes Hulu access. Hulu lists subscriptions starting from $12.49, according to USA Today.
The series follows the personal and professional lives of doctors at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital, a fictional hospital in Seattle, according to ABC. Season 23 picks up after the Royer Bridge collapse, with Meredith Grey and Nick Marsh engaged. The premiere itself centres on a plane crash.
Ellen Pompeo is back as Meredith Grey alongside original cast members Chandra Wilson and James Pickens Jr. Two long-serving doctors are gone. Kevin McKidd, who played Dr. Owen Hunt, and Kim Raver, who played Dr. Teddy Altman, exited in the Season 22 finale.
James Wolk joins in a recurring role, meaning he appears across several episodes rather than as a full-time regular, as Dr. Seth Norton. Sarah Levy appears as a pregnant patient. The wider team includes Caterina Scorsone as Amelia Shepherd, Camilla Luddington as Jo Wilson, Chris Carmack as Atticus “Link” Lincoln and Anthony Hill as Winston Ndugu, alongside Alexis Floyd, Harry Shum Jr., Adelaide Kane and Niko Terho.
For fans of weekly TV, the pattern is familiar. ABC has organised the season as a straight Thursday rollout, with new episodes every Thursday night after the premiere. The network has released an official Season 23 trailer and a premiere promo for the Oct. 15 slot.
