Madonna has joined the social media trend around Adéla's song "Nicole Kidman", using the track in a new TikTok video.

In the clip, reported on 16 October, Madonna poses in a gold dress while appearing to get ready for a formal event, according to Billboard. The sound choice links one of pop's longest-running chart stars with one of its newest.

Adéla is a Slovak singer whose debut album, PRIMA, was released in September. The album debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200, the chart that ranks the most popular albums in the United States.

Its single "Nicole Kidman" has risen to No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100, the US singles chart. It is Adéla's first top 10 hit on that chart.

The song is named for actor Nicole Kidman, who has publicly embraced it. Kidman made her TikTok debut in August using Adéla's music and said she planned to attend one of the singer's concerts, according to Just Jared. She later took part in the "Nicole Kidman" trend herself, a moment covered by Entertainment Tonight.

That trend has spread widely. Kesha, Tove Lo, Pedro Pascal, Dua Lipa and Kristen Wiig have all participated, alongside posts from Kidman.

Kidman told People in August that she is "absolutely" a fan of Adéla. Her first TikTok post used "Ain't in LA", another Adéla song that has charted on the Billboard Hot 100.

Madonna arrives with deep chart history of her own. She has earned 12 No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 and nine No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200.

What makes this stand out is the chain reaction. A new singer names a song after a famous actor. The actor joins in. Then other stars follow, and now Madonna too. For fans, this means one short video can pull three different audiences into the same song.
