British father fined after toddler son's fatal fall from Cyprus hotel window

A British father has been fined 3,000 euros (£2,500) after his two-year-old son fell to his death from a hotel window in Cyprus.
Joshua Foster, 37, from Essex, admitted causing death through a reckless, rash or dangerous act at Paphos District Court, BBC reported. The charge relates to the death of his toddler son during a family holiday.
The fall occurred on 12 July, the first day of the family's holiday in Chlorakas, a coastal village near Paphos. The boy fell nearly 40ft (12.1m) from the fourth floor of the King Evelthon Beach Hotel and Resort, where the family was staying.
The court heard that Foster had lifted his son onto a windowsill to show him the view of a waterpark. He thought the window was closed. He then lost control of the child, and the boy fell.
Foster appeared at Paphos District Court on Oct. 6 and 7, according to Reuters Connect. His admission was entered on the Tuesday hearing.
He sobbed in court during proceedings concerning his son's death, The Telegraph reported. The court was told that the tragedy of his son's death will haunt Foster for the rest of his life.
The fine concludes the criminal case in Cyprus over the July fall. The court imposed the 3,000-euro penalty after accepting his admission.
