P-Valley is closing its doors. Starz will bring the Mississippi Delta drama back for a third and final season, opening with two episodes back to back on Friday, December 4, according to Deadline.

The wait is almost over. The final run will total nine episodes, as announced on Starz’s Facebook post.

Deadline has published an exclusive first look at the premiere. The 20-second clip centres on Roulette, played by Gail Bean, and Whisper, played by Psalms Salazar.

The story picks up around the newly opened Promised Land Casino in Chucalissa. That puts pressure on The Pynk, the strip club at the heart of the series, as the town’s power balance shifts.

Nicco Annan returns as Uncle Clifford, with J. Alphonse Nicholson as Lil’ Murda and Shannon Thornton as Keyshawn. Also back are Brandee Evans as Mercedes, Harriett D. Foy as Mayor Woodbine, Dan J. Johnson as Corbin, Morocco Omari as Big L and Loretta Devine as Ernestine.

The series is based on the stage play Pussy Valley. Creator Hall serves as showrunner and executive producer, and Lionsgate Television produces the series for Starz.

Music is part of the rollout. The Season 3 teaser trailer features the new single ‘Homegrown’ from Lil’ Murda, as reported by Deadline. Starz has also posted an official S3 Teaser billed as “Welcome back to The Pynk.”

For fans, this means a quick way to catch up. Starz has released a “Re-Re-Recap” covering Seasons 1 and 2, and its TV schedule lists a subscriber-exclusive preview of the first five minutes of the final season.
