This Espresso Machine Can Run Doom

An espresso machine is the latest unlikely place to play Doom.
Reddit user FullExtraction shared footage of the 1993 shooter running on the small, circular screen of the Fellow Espresso Series 1, according to GameSpot.
The Series 1 is built to make coffee. Its display is built for settings and status updates. It is round, compact and nothing like a television or monitor.
That is part of the joke. Doom appears squeezed into the circle. Corners are cut off. The action keeps going anyway.
Doom needs little introduction for many readers. For everyone else, here is the short version. It is a first-person action game, meaning you see through the eyes of the character, blasting through maze-like levels filled with demons. It was released in 1993 and became famous for fast action and simple, readable graphics. The original game shipped on floppy disks for early 1990s PCs.
Those simple graphics help explain why it keeps turning up in strange places. The game was designed for computers that are far less powerful than a modern phone. Modern appliances can easily clear that bar. Hobbyists have spent three decades fitting it onto anything with a chip and a screen.
It helps to know the routine. If a device has a display, someone will ask if it can run Doom. That question has become shorthand in games culture for clever tinkering rather than a serious test of power. That is why the gag endures.
This espresso machine fits the pattern perfectly. The screen is tiny. The shape is wrong. It works. Coffee first, demons second.
FullExtraction posted the project on Reddit. The post drew attention because the Series 1 is new kitchen equipment, not games hardware. The report of the post was published on 16 October 2026.
There is no suggestion this is an official feature. Fellow has not presented the machine as a games device. This looks like a personal project, shared for fun.
What makes this stand out is the shape of the screen. Most Doom ports wrestle with low power or odd controls. Here the challenge is the circle. Health, ammo and enemies must all read in a round frame.
For fans, this means another entry in a very long list. It will not change how anyone makes espresso. It does give coffee breaks a new meaning.
And it keeps a tradition alive. Give players a screen. They will find a way to put Doom on it.
