A youth-led campaign aiming for the biggest turnout of young voters in Aotearoa New Zealand's history will hold enrolment events in five cities on Saturday 17 October.

On A Roll calls the effort 'Nationwide Mobilisation Day'. It is part of a final push before enrolment closes on 25 October. Voters must enrol before election day to take part, according to RNZ.

Campaigners said about 166,000 people aged 18 to 24 remain unenrolled. They said more than 20,000 young people enrolled in the month from September to October.

They said 18 to 24-year-olds are the second-largest voting-age group in the country.

Separately, independent music venues have joined under the name ROCK'EN'ROL to run live music alongside enrolment events. Those involved said the aim is to make enrolling easy, visible and accessible for rangatahi and young adults, according to Under The Radar.
