Blood of Dawnwalker Update 1.1 Adds Story Mode, Respec and Petting

The Blood of Dawnwalker is about to get easier, more flexible and much friendlier to animals. Update 1.1, expected to roll out next week, adds a new Story mode, a full skill reset and the ability to pet dogs and cats, Eurogamer reported. No firmer date has been announced beyond that window.
The new Story mode is for players who want less pressure in a fight. It sits below the current difficulty options and adds extra combat assist on top of damage and health tweaks. The existing Story difficulty will become Forgiving difficulty when the patch arrives. Players who already picked Story will find themselves on Forgiving, with the new Story mode as an even gentler step down.
Build-tinkerers get something useful too. Update 1.1 adds the Draught of Mind Rebirth, a potion that wipes all Swordmastery, Witchcraft and Vampirism abilities. You can then master a different set from scratch. That is a respec, a full reset of character skills, for anyone who regrets early choices or wants to test a new style.
Then there is the headline for animal lovers. Players will be able to pet dogs and cats they meet in the world. The petting is directional, meaning the animation adjusts to where you approach the animal from, according to GamesRadar and IGN.
Combat gets practical help as well. Targeting is improved, with more reliable locking onto enemies and cleaner disengaging when you want to break away. For anyone lost in a crowd of foes, that should make fights read better moment to moment.
Accessibility and presentation get attention too. New subtitle settings will let players increase font size and turn on subtitles for all dialogue lines, not just key scenes. Players can customise the text to suit their needs. A FrameGen technology update, with its own dedicated settings, updates frame generation, a graphics technique that inserts extra frames to keep motion smooth.
The patch also removes blood and gore censorship in the Japanese Steam version of the game. That change applies to that storefront version only. Under all that sits volume. Update 1.1 includes over 1,100 other improvements and fixes.
What makes this stand out is the mix. Easier play, cleaner fights, clearer words on screen and cats you can stroke. For fans, this means more ways to shape the adventure to suit them. It is the kind of housekeeping update that smooths the road ahead.
