Cancelled Assassin's Creed Destiny footage leaks with umbrella weapon

Footage from a reportedly cancelled Assassin's Creed game set in ancient China has appeared online.
The clips point to a project called Assassin's Creed Destiny, reportedly built for current platforms at Tencent-owned TiMi Studio Group Eurogamer. TiMi also worked on Assassin's Creed Jade, the mobile entry in Ubisoft's long-running historical action series.
The clearest sequence follows a female assassin. She infiltrates a sacred palace under siege by the army of warlord Xiang Yu, hunting a mysterious artefact. It ends in an early-stage boss encounter with Xiang Yu himself.
Other clips show the series staples. There are stealth kills from behind, rooftop chases and the leap of faith, the high dive assassins use to escape unseen. One section follows a male character using parkour, the running-and-climbing traversal system, to close on enemies.
Then comes the surprise. A temporary test area shows a player wielding a spinning, umbrella-style weapon. Ability icons are drawn like ink-brush strokes. A health bar sits on screen.
What makes this stand out is how complete it looks in places. The palace siege has staging, dialogue and combat. The umbrella section is rougher, a grey test room built to try weapons and systems.
The footage was taken from work portfolios belonging to people who worked on the game, with most of the material coming from a prototype built in February 2025 Eurogamer. The setting was thought to be 206 BCE, nine years after Jade's 215 BCE setting.
Neither Ubisoft nor Tencent has confirmed the project or its cancellation. The leak was first reported by Video Games Chronicle, which noted that Tencent pivoted away from Western franchises in 2024.
For fans, this means a glimpse of a China setting the series has long circled but never fully built for consoles and PC. The footage is unfinished. It is still a detailed look at what TiMi was trying.
