Ospreys hit seven tries in bonus-point win at Black Lion

Ospreys opened their Challenge Cup campaign with a 39-14 bonus-point win over Black Lion in Tbilisi on Saturday 17 October.
The Welsh region ran in seven tries at Achvala Stadium to take maximum points from Round 1, having led 22-7 at half-time, BBC Sport reported.
A try is worth five points for grounding the ball over the tryline. Ospreys passed four tries early, which earns an extra league point. That is the bonus point.
Winger Luke Morgan scored twice. Gwilym Evans, Morgan Morse, Huw Sutton, Lewis Lloyd and Kian Hire added one apiece. Fly-half Lawson Creighton kicked two conversions, the two-point kicks taken after a try.
Black Lion replied through Giorgi Spanderashvili and Otar Giorgadze. Luka Tsirekidze kicked both of their conversions.
Owen Watkin returned to captain the visitors for the opener, Yahoo Sport reported. Mark Jones’s side included Steffan Thomas, Ben Warren, Lewis Jones and Ryan Smith in the starting team alongside try-scorers Lloyd and Sutton, Ospreys Rugby announced.
The scoreline continued a tough run for the Georgian side. Black Lion had lost six of their previous seven Challenge Cup matches and conceded at least four tries in each of those seven games, 36 in total.
For Ospreys, Tbilisi was the fourth stop in a long spell on the road. They began the 2026-27 season with away trips to Durban, Johannesburg and Newport before heading to Georgia.
What makes this stand out is the clean start. Seven different scoring moments, points before and after the break, and no late wobble.
Ospreys now look to December. They host Harlequins, then travel to Toulon and return home to face Vannes in January.
