Alex Iwobi scored the goal that gave Fulham a 1-0 win over Hull City at Craven Cottage on Saturday.

It was Fulham's first league win of the season. The result eased the pressure on Arbeloa, The Guardian reported. Hull, newly promoted to the Premier League, England's top division, left London with nothing.

Hull manager Sergej Jakirovic did not argue with the outcome. Fulham were "much better" than his side, he said after the defeat at Craven Cottage, BBC reported. Short sentence. Honest verdict.

The game kicked off at 15:00 BST on Saturday. Fulham went into it still looking for a win. Hull arrived after a draw with Everton in their previous match, The Sun reported.

Jakirovic made three changes to his starting side from that Everton game. Josh King kept his place. The boldest call was at the back, where 19-year-old centre-back Lucas — a central defender — started before being taken off at half-time.

Jakirovic had spoken to the media on Thursday ahead of the trip. The former Bosnia international led Hull to promotion last season with a 1-0 win over Middlesbrough in the Championship play-off final, the one-off game that decides who goes up.

He is not short on personality. Back in April, during that promotion run, he said he wanted Daniel Craig to play him in a film about it.

What makes this stand out is the contrast in mood. For Fulham supporters, one goal changes the noise around the club. Relief travels fast. For Hull fans, this is the sharp edge of the top flight, where even a hard-earned point the week before counts for little by Saturday evening.
