Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff survived a shooting in Mumbai on the evening of 18 October.

He was in a car leaving a football club in Juhu, a suburb of Mumbai, when the attack took place, according to police accounts cited by the BBC. Video published by news outlets shows at least two gunmen firing multiple shots at close range at the front passenger seat of a slowly moving car as it passed a crowd.

Mumbai Police said three to four rounds were fired at Shroff's car, according to the Times of India. Police said the 36-year-old did not sustain any gunshot wounds. He sustained injuries to his left hand due to gunpowder and glass shards.

Two people were injured in the shooting, including Shroff's driver, according to local media reports citing police. The second person injured was an autorickshaw driver. The Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for the firing, according to the Times of India.

Eknath Shinde, the deputy chief minister of Maharashtra state, where Mumbai is located, visited Shroff on Sunday evening. Shinde said Shroff and his mother were left "shaken" by the attack. Devendra Fadnavis called Shroff and assured swift action after the incident. Actor Disha Patani visited Shroff's residence after the firing.

Shroff is the son of two actors. He made his acting debut in 2014 with the romance film Heropanti.

The shooting follows other recent attacks linked to public figures in Mumbai. In 2024, Indian police arrested two members of a criminal gang for a gun attack targeting the home of Bollywood actor Salman Khan. In 2024, Indian politician Baba Siddique was shot dead in Mumbai.
