Republic takes eight of Billboard 200 top 10 as Swift leads

Republic Records holds eight of the 10 places on the Billboard 200 chart dated 24 October, led by Taylor Swift's The Life of a Showgirl at No. 1. Billboard credits the label with the tally on the latest weekly ranking.
The Billboard 200 ranks the most popular albums of the week in the United States. It is based on multi-metric consumption measured in equivalent album units, the measure that converts plays into album sales, compiled by Luminate, the data organisation that powers the chart.
Swift's The Life of a Showgirl, on Republic Records, is No. 1. She is followed in the label's group by Morgan Wallen's I'm the Problem at No. 3, released via Big Loud/Mercury, and Noah Kahan's The Great Divide at No. 5, via Mercury.
The rest of Republic's eight are Drake's HABIBTI at No. 6 via OVO Sound/Republic Records, Olivia Dean's The Art of Loving at No. 7 via Polydor/Island, Kahan's Stick Season at No. 8 via Mercury, Greta Van Fleet's Palace for the People at No. 9 via Lava/Republic Records and Drake's ICEMAN at No. 10 via OVO Sound/Republic Records.
At group level, Universal Music Group holds nine of the top 10 titles. The additional title is Olivia Rodrigo's you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love at No. 2, via Geffen/Interscope Capitol. That leaves one top-10 place outside the group.
What makes this stand out is the repetition. Two acts hold two places each in Republic's eight: Kahan with The Great Divide and Stick Season, and Drake with HABIBTI and ICEMAN. The spread runs from Swift and Wallen at the top to rock, R&B and British soul lower down.
This is the third time Republic has taken eight of the top 10. Billboard reports the label is the only label to hold at least eight of the top 10 since Luminate data began powering the chart on 25 May 1991. Billboard
Republic first did it on the chart dated 13 January 2024, then repeated the feat one week later. Swift's 1989 (Taylor's Version) was No. 1 on a chart during that earlier run. Universal Music Group is the only entity to hold at least nine top-10 titles since the Luminate era began in 1991.
