Cardi B packs eight songs into Tiny Desk set with live band

Cardi B has carried a full live band into NPR Music's office for a Tiny Desk Concert spanning both of her studio albums.
The eight-song session was published as "Cardi B: Tiny Desk Concert" on 19 October 2026, according to NPR. Tiny Desk Concerts are small-room performances organised by NPR Music, filmed close around the desk rather than on a concert stage. This edition runs just under 19 minutes and keeps the attention on voices and instruments in a tight space.
She opened with "Hello," taken from her second studio album, Am I the Drama?, her second full-length collection of new recordings. She closed with "I Like It Like That." Long-time listeners will recognise the shape at once. New material first, a familiar ending to finish.
The middle moved quickly through six more songs. The set included "ErrTime," "Man of Your Word," "Up" and "Ah Ha," alongside "Be Careful" and "Bodak Yellow" from her debut album, Invasion of Privacy, according to Rolling Stone. Eight songs in under 19 minutes. The pace leaves almost no pause between titles, which suits viewers watching on a phone.
The music was made live in the room rather than played from a track. Adam Blackstone led the instrumental group on bass and keys, joined by Eugene Roberts on keyboards, Clayton Sears on guitar, Cedric Thompson on drums, Kenneth Whalum on saxophone and Melvin Jones on trumpet. DJ Ray G performed alongside the band, while Tiffany Stevens and Ebony Franklin provided background vocals, the supporting voices that sit behind the lead vocal and fill out choruses.
For the filming, Cardi B wore leather pants and a power blazer. The band was arranged around her behind the desk, with brass, drums and keys packed into the usual office set-up. The full video is available through NPR Music's YouTube channel, which hosts Tiny Desk Concerts alongside live shows, documentaries and more. It is listed as "Cardi B: Tiny Desk Concert."
Coverage of the session followed quickly, with the most recent report published on 20 October 2026. For viewers, the appeal is simple. It is short, it is live, and it gathers songs from across both albums in one place. No tour ticket required.
What makes this stand out is the contrast in scale. A nine-person instrumental and vocal line-up is a lot of players for such a small room. Hearing rap vocals balanced against live saxophone, trumpet, guitar and drums gives the set a different weight from a club or arena show, all inside a performance shorter than a sitcom episode.
