Dog Man: The Musical will keep touring Britain into 2027, with a summer return to London.

The show will play the Queen Elizabeth Hall at the Southbank Centre from 29 July to 15 August 2027, WhatsOnStage reported on 20 October. The London dates close a long regional tour. The run lasts about 1 hour and 40 minutes.

It is based on the book series by Dav Pilkey. Pilkey also created Captain Underpants and Cat Kid Comic Club. The first Dog Man book was published in 2016.

The books have sold more than 70 million copies worldwide and have been translated into 48 languages. That reach explains the stage demand.

The musical has book and lyrics by Kevin Del Aguila and music by Brad Alexander. It is directed and choreographed by Jen Wineman.

The stage version first opened at the Lucille Lortel Theatre in New York in 2019. It returned there in 2023 at New World Stages before heading to Britain.

The 2026 tour leg is still to finish. The show is due at Fareham Live from 23 to 25 October, then at Wycombe Swan from 26 to 28 October.

The 2027 tour starts in England in January. It opens at Theatre Royal Brighton on 16 to 17 January, then visits Woking Theatre on 22 to 24 January and Palace Theatre Manchester on 28 to 30 January.

February brings Anvil Arts Basingstoke on 5 to 7 February, Malvern Festival Theatre on 12 to 14 February, Storyhouse Chester on 19 to 21 February and Northampton Royal and Derngate on 26 to 28 February.

March covers Scotland and the north. Dates include Edinburgh Festival Theatre on 5 to 7 March, Alhambra Theatre Bradford on 12 to 14 March and Aylesbury Waterside Theatre on 19 to 21 March.

Spring and early summer add Rose Theatre Kingston on 1 to 4 April, Yvonne Arnaud Theatre Guildford on 30 April to 2 May, Leeds Playhouse on 6 to 8 May and Blackpool Grand on 14 to 16 May. The run then takes in Marlowe Theatre Canterbury on 30 May to 1 June, Mayflower Theatre Southampton on 4 to 5 June, Lichfield Garrick on 11 to 13 June, Bristol Old Vic on 24 to 27 June and Everyman Theatre Cheltenham on 2 to 4 July.

Four performers will return for the 2027 dates. Vanessa Dumatey is back as Flippy and Sam Kipling is back as Petey. Shannon Bourne returns as Flippy and cover for Li'l Petey, with Robert Wilkes as Dog Man and cover for Petey.

For families, this means more chances to catch it close to home. A touring show, meaning the same production moves from town to town, lives or dies on that kind of repeat booking.
